عيّدي يا بلادي

كل عام والكويت، وطن النهار، حرة عزيزة أبية

******

Now no one denys that P2BK was a success. I mean come on, I heard that more than 13 thousand people came in the first day alone!! that is like major WOW!!

The fact they managed to organize such a fabulous event, initiating the most coveted place for young Kuwaiti businesses to show their stuff, getting this much attention.. is just AWESOME!

Hurray for them, o ya36eehom alf ALF 3afya.
Fikra o shoghol yestahloon 3alaih kel taqdeer..
Bravo!

But,
and there's always a but,
there were some things that annoyed me which could have been otherwise prevented.
Like for example:

*Why take on more than 120 participants?
The place was too small and we ended up with really tiny tiny booths, and even smaller hallways!

*The band was noisy, took up precious space, and was really unnecessary.

*I read in Reema's blog, here, about some clowns walking around in the crowd handing out tiny pieces of paper that read cheesy things like:
~Proud to be Kuwait that doesn't own a car <--- WTH??
~Proud to be Kuwaiti who is unmarried <--- Malah da3y killish!!

*I thought that asking some booths to pack up and close @ 7pm inorder to add some chairs was just rude, and utterly unprofessional. The event closes @ 10pm, and asking SOME to leave while visitors and buyers are still pouring in was an unforgivable mistake.

On another completely different note:

A tasteless lier, you-can't-trust-your-purse-alone-with person, in-your-face copycat turns to a fashion stylist?!! @@

A Bubble Burst..

Dear Glitter,

I need to vent. And since you seem to have figured out what marriage is all about, I thought I'd write to you.

He was the love of my life. And I was his.

And Kuwait being so tiny, everybody knew about us. It was common knowledge that flan ye7eb flana, we flana itmoot 3la flan.

Finally the day came when we at last got married. And I remember thinking how lucky I am to have gotten my happy fairytale ending.

The first few years I actually glowed with happiness. Everything was better than perfect, better that i've ever imagined it would be.

But....

As the days rolled over, magic began to seep through the door, and everything seemed so ordinary..

I love him still, but there is no thrill. No excitement. Just plain BLAH!

I began to dread his touch. The touch only a few years ago I had fantasized about, stayed up at nights to end dreaming of. Now.... ??

Now I fake headaches.

Or .. Fake it all together, just to make him happy,

Only to run to the shower afterwards with the weight of a mountain over my heart, feeling all down and blue.

Sad, huh?

Oh how I remember our first kiss *goose bumps*

our first time together .. *sigh*

I know I know, mako shy yeg3ad 3ala 7alah..

I don't know why I'm writing this to you, I just needed to let it out before it suffocates me.

I'm not expecting any magical solutions cause i'm done believing in magic. It is what it is. Electrefying love evolved into beautiful friendship, mutual respect.

So yeah,

that's what I wanted to share..

I only hope I didn't cloud your skies with my dark thoughts.

Yours,

A.

Dear A.

Thank you for allowing me to publish your letter.

I'm drafting a long hearty reply to you and it should be in your inbox any minute now.

Love,

G.G.

Flirt, Then Withhold.

"Friendly, outgoing, charming, whatever you want to call it, it still translates into 'available and desparate' when you're the one who initiates contact."

"You wait for him to make the first move....., then you reward him with a smile and some smoldering eyes. And then you turn away from him."

"If you do your job well, it will make him want you more. It's all about finding the balance of mysterious and unavailable and challenging with sensual and seductive and sexy. Make him work for it, and he'll love you forever."

"Give a little, and then ignore. Flirt, then withhold. He'll go crazy trying to pin you down."

wala bil a7laaaamm

***UPDATE***

--Check below--

Dreams?
I know nothing about them!
I would love to get to know them, but they don't like me very much as they seem to steer away from my blissful slumber for ages now.
And I'm really frustrated!
Why can't i dream?
Or maybe I do dream, but forget all abt them the moment I wake up?

Listen to this:

A7lahom had this dream of our late grandmother- Allah yer7amha. She said she saw her in a well- lit place, her face was glowing and she was wearing white. But,.... She looked sad :-(
So in the dream A7lahom approched her and asked her:
"Mama, why are you sad? Intay mo bl jannah? "
"Ana bl jannah 7beebti", she replied with a sad smile. "Bs illy emkaddirny inny ma sheft elrasool. Ana bl daraja el3ishreen o oho wayed foogy... ". She sighed and said: "I need more".

6ab3un needless to say that my mother upon hearing this, intensified her prayers and sadaqaat for my granny's soul.

Now why can't I ever dream of something so deep, so meaningful.
I'm so jealous!!
I'm my granny's favourite, why didn't she visit my dream?? :-/

.
.

Oh and the other day, Sweetness was saying how her dreams are very powerful. And she told me about this dream she had where she was sitting with A7lahom at the beach admiring the sunrise when all of a sudden the sky turns black and the sun sinks in the sea again. The waves rise like an angry tornado and suddenly, a huge voice fills the agitated skies "ALLAHO AKBAR, ALLAHO AKBAR".

So she held tightly to A7lahom and they huddled close and started praying together until all was calm again.

Now that was scary @@

But can you see where i'm going with this, it's not only that I don't get to dream, I'm not even included in one!!

.
.

And then, my bestie calls me up... She told me that she saw herself wearing a long green robe, happy and content walking on the clouds towards this big golden gates, only to be blocked by the gate's keeper. He told her she can't get through just yet. She has to go back down and fix herself up, tie up some loose ends, before she can cross to the other side!!

Now how deep is that?!!

O ana methel ilkharoof, anam o agoom o wala 7ilm ashooof :-/

.
.

Now finally,
just today,
i woke up remembering a dream :-)

FINALLY!!

"What's wrong? " he asks her softly.
"I can't do this" She looks away and heaves herself on the sofa
"But I love you" and he kneels on the floor beside her.
"You deserve someone better" she says between her tears.

wala bil aflaaaaam...

I was invited to go to two weddings that night, but I'm glad I went to that one. I had fun. I really did. It was.... ummm eventful ;-)

**Most shocking, jaw-dropping, really funny moment:
When this lady (kha66ain ta7at kilmat lady- ya3ni mo kid, not even a girl), shook her stuff at "Sawwa7" song. She started to dance elegantly, bs elthaher khathaha il7amas, o be tashjee3 mn shaksiya mash'hoora who was observing her, she CLIMBED the table and continued dancing barefoot fog il6awla @@

I love LOVE ilGassar. He's a complete show all by himself.
Love his enthusiasm
Love his colored bishts
Love his jewellery
Love his sparkly microphone

**Most enjoyable dance: When firqat ilGassar sat down bl qa3a after zaffat ilmi3res and two shabaab began dancing. Abbaaaih 7ABBAIT'HOM, kan rags'hom shy shy.

So I danced, ignoring X's instructions not to. And not just danced as in etmashait bil sa7a, No0o0o. I danced DANCED mn galb :-D
When I returned to my seat panting, I found a msg mn X:
"3ad sem3ay elkalam o ge3day tikana"
La wallah !!
" Too late 7beebi ;-) " , I texted back.

Abbaaaaaaaiih, eee... Listen to this:
**Aqwa salfa bil 3irs:
So when they announced that the bride was coming. All went quiet and looked with anticipation towards the door, willa shino, the bride walked in wearing PINK !!
