Since this whole Swine Flu mania started, I never really concerned myself in following it up. I think the whole matter is blown way out of proportion. Something juicy for the newspapers to write about, and just another reason for our nowwab to lash out at the government.
MY COUSIN GOT HIT BY IT!!
He was feeling a bit weak, so he got himself tested two days ago @ the International clinic. They told him the result of the test was NEGATIVE, and he was perfectly FINE.
So ilmaskeen continued living his life normally: Ra7 3azza il3adwani, o he went out with friends, and attended our weekly family gathering.. Only to receive a call from International Clinic yesterday informing him that he was INFECTED after all !!!!!
After TWO FULL DAYS of spreading his jerms around, tawah he learned that he has the Swine Flu!!
WHY INTERNATIONAL CLINIC, WHYYYYYYYY?

And now our household and the whole family is in a hysteric mode since my poor cousin ma khalla a7ad ma sallam 3alaih, including my mother :-(
I wasn't there, but many of our little children were.

Lama rad they called him and told him that he has swine flu! bas gal inna akhath panadol cold and flu oo sar zain! fa tara khaba kibeera 3ala wala shay.. Maku illa il3afya inshallah :)

I must say, I stumbled upon your blog a few days ago, and i have been hooked! so bad that i downloaded your past posts onto my sony reader so i can read them on the plane!
On another note, DON'T PANIC! I had swine flu this summer, its no big deal. More over i never got treated, i just kept my high temperature lowered with some paracetamol and it went away in 3 days seriously!
Regardless, hope your cousin get's better soon.
so typical of international clinic. o e7eboon yan9eboon 3al nas. i once had to do surgery 3endhom o they told me they could do it but needed to do another surgery inorder to do that. o when i did it, they told me they couldnt do the other 1. becareful menhom i seriously dont recommend them.

It's not their fault actually. Two of my cousins got swine flu, one was in london and the other was here.
The one in London felt sick so he went to the doctor and got tested so the doctor took a swab test from his mouth and a blood test. The blood test said it was negative, bas just in case, the doctor gave him a flu shot. He called him a few days later and told him to that the swab test came out positive. Bas he took precautions min il bedaya and stayed in his room lain ma ra7at il flu.
Btw, it's not dangerous. It's only dangerous to children and old people with no mana3a and to people with respiratory diseases like asthma.
Fog kel hatha, A LOT of the people around you probably had swine flu, bas maygooloon 7ag a7ad 3ashan mayekhtar3on. It's just like any other flu, I don't get all the fuss about it.
o ba3dain allah yahdeeh your cousin, even if he had a regular flu laish isalem 3al awadem? 7atan lo makanat swine mala da3i i7abeb il awadem. Maku ela il 3afya inshalla.
FYI, according to my grandmothers doctor, the chances of you dying from a regular flu is far more higher than that of swine flu.

He didn't feel sick, nor he had the flu symptoms. He just felt weak that's all, and that's why when they told him the test was negative, he continued his life as he normally does.
